We live in a world where there are endless possibilities. Life is a game we all play, some better than others. There are secrets to life that take a little bit of digging to acquire, but most of what you need to know is readily available if you seek it out.
I had a call the other day from a client and they were discussing their goals like most people do around the New Year’s resolution time. I usually ask what’s the purpose of the goal and why are they making it, and the most common answer is time and time again.
“Well Bob, I want to be happy.”
Jenny was no different then most of my clients. She had a detailed set of goals planned out for 2016.
At the the end of this plan, she was going to start to be happy!
This is where most people get it wrong, happiness leads to success, not the other way.
Once I explained this to Jenny she replied, “Bob, but I’m not happy right now. Where do I start?”
I explained, “Jenny, all the research is in a book called The Happiness Advantage and the most important point I can relay to you is that the largest indicator of happiness is in your social relationships. When people have favourable relationships in all areas of their life they are the happiest.”
Time to build a couple of new relationships at work? Time to fix a relationship at home?
Want to be happier? Your choice.
Please pass onto to your friends.
Time to GCBU!
